i am at crossroad with my travel journal - again. I see so many examples of great craft-style journals and I love them in all their variety - for the expression of individualism and a unique journey.
However… When I try to crate my own, then my need for some misguided perfection takes over and all I see is a childish attempt a playing (unsuccessfully) with glue and paper.
Arghhhhhh - do I just give up and create a boring electronic journal or live with the result as is and hope over time I get better and learn to love it???
I have always wanted to draw, but I am my own worst critic.
The only way to get beyond it is to get a teacher and start from scratch - so that’s what I’ve done and I am loving it. I am allowing myself to be a complete beginner (which I am) and to make mistakes and just have fun with it.
A fun day of drawing stick figures
Learning is doing and I have done no painting or drawing for months, so it’s time to get into it!!!
Local street art
Pleasantly surprised to see this great painting having appeared overnight in our neighborhood
Watercoloring my diary turned out better than I had hoped for - especially as it just looked like soaked paper a few hours ago.
Several steps still to go and the next one is to make sure it still fits back together again…
First image transfer, not perfect, but has potential.
Found these two impressive pictures on a bin in Massillon
